Our employees:

Our technical staff has mainly been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for 3-20 years before joining ComputIT. 60 % of the technical staff has a PhD degree, the rest MSc degrees, in Mechanical Engineering. The PhD theses are on various topics in numerical modeling of fluid dynamics, turbulent combustion, soot formation and oxidation, and also on user interface design for CFD codes.

Chairman of the board

Bjørn F. Magnussen is chairman of the board of ComputIT and also engaged in the daily operation of the company as director of strategy. He is professor emeritus in Applied Thermodynamics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim.

 

Trond Evanger, MSc,
Managing Director/CEO

Trond Evanger is Managing Director/CEO of ComputIT. In addition to be working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for 15 years, he has had various manager positions in engineering companies  before he together with professor Magnussen and the engineering company ICG (now COWI) established ComputIT in 1999.

 

 

Anette Mjøen, Office Manager

Anette Mjøen is Office Manager and has been working in ComputIT since 2001. She is responsible for the practical operation of the office.

Bjørn E. Vembe is senior principal specialist at ComputIT and head of the Stavanger office. He has been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for 13 years before joining ComputIT in 1999.

Bård Grimsmo is senior principal specialist at ComputIT. He has been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for about 20 years before joining ComputIT in 1999.

Helge Nørstrud, Professor, PhD,
Special Advisor

Helge Nørstrud is scientific advisor at ComputIT since 2010 and professor emeritus in Aerodynamics and Gas Dynamics at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. Professor Nørstrud has more than 50 years of experience from various research organizations and aeronautical industry, and he is the co-founder of the consulting company CFD norway which was acquired by ComputIT in January 2010.

Ivar Jarle Øye is principal specialist at ComputIT.  He has been working within the field of computational aerodynamics and hydrodynamics at NTNU and CFD norway for about 22 years before joining ComputIT in 2010.

   

Kjell Erik Rian, PhD,
Principal Specialist

Kjell Erik Rian is principal specialist at ComputIT. He has been working at NTNU and SINTEF for about 15 years with turbulent flow and combustion, especially modeling of explosions and compressible flows, and was Associate Professor at NTNU before joining ComputIT in 2008.

Senior Principal Specialist

Kristen Opstad is senior principal specialist at ComputIT. He has a 20 years background from fire research at SINTEF NBL, with focus on fire development and fire mitigation in the process industry, underground spaces, rail and traffic tunnels, before joining ComputIT in 2010.

Lars Lilleeng is specialist at ComputIT since 2001. He has been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF before joining ComputIT.

He is working part time in ComputIT since 2003 with responsibility for economy systems and the account management.

Nils Inge Lilleheie is senior principal specialist at ComputIT. He has been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for 17 years before joining ComputIT in 1999.

Petter Aune is principal specialist at ComputIT. He has a 16 years background from fire research at SINTEF NBL, with focus on experimental and CFD studies of fire development and mitigation, before joining ComputIT in 2010.

Robert Olsen is principal specialist at ComputIT. He has been working within the field of CFD modeling, especially of multiphase flows, at SINTEF Energy Research for about 10 years before joining ComputIT in 2008.

Rune N. Kleiveland is principal specialist at ComputIT. He has been working within the field of turbulent flow and combustion in Professor Magnussen’s group at SINTEF for about 8 years before joining ComputIT in 2004.

Tim Mak is a specialist at ComputIT. He has been working in the field of ship hydrodynamics at Austal Ships Ltd in Australia and CDF norway for about 11 years before joining ComputIT in 2010.

 

Vebjørn Nilsen, PhD,
Manager ComputIT USA

Vebjørn Nilsen is head of ComputIT's office in Houston, Texas, USA. He has been working within the field of computational physics and turbulent flow at various research organizations in the USA, such as Sandia National Laboratories and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, and CFD norway for about 18 years before joining ComputIT in 2010.
